Commentary
The devotee intuitively knows this darkness is a gift from the Divine with hidden sublime blessings, and knows that only Divine Grace can lift the veil.
Willing to wait for eternity for the coming of the Divine Oneness, yet in Maya still, the devotee calls for the comforting arms of the Divine Beloved until the Night is over and the Dawn of Realization is revealed.

Commentary
The Dark Night is cold and harsh; empty and lonely. Feeling the depth of separation, the devotee pleads with the Divine for the feeling of nearness and a solacing whispered assurance of That Love Divine.

In the simple, intimate plea of a child, the devotee asks if enough time in the Dark Night has passed….

Commentary
Recognizing vulnerability to the delusive shafts of Maya, the devotee places all faith in the power of the Divine Beloved and seeks shelter in the Holy Arms.

Confirming the presence of the Guru ( Dispeller of Darkness) the Divine begins to console the devotee: “My little one, just hang on to Me; I’ll take you Home; it’s only a dream. I’ve come as the Guru; let go of delusion; hang on to Me.”

6. Mother ‘s Lullaby
Commentary
God in the aspect of Divine Mother now comforts the devotee-child. Coaxing the child to rest in Her arms, Mother promises peace and divine love, and the strength to continue the worldly school-dream with Divine Remembrance and the knowledge that Home is just on the other side of Maya.
