Commentary
The ways in which one dives deep into a constant, conscious relationship with God are the steps and supports on the spiritual journey within. These are the personal elements of the spiritual journey known to all mystics, saints, and lovers of God. As the devotee’s devotion deepens, so does the Inner Knowing, and the attributes of a dedicated spiritual endeavor become more clear.
In “A Closer Walk” the devotee is aware of the attributes of a dedicated sadhana (spiritual practice), and soulfully prays to the Divine for help in manifesting those attributes.

Commentary
Declaring fidelity and dedication to living in the Divine Presence, the devotee becomes immersed in the feeling of that Holy Presence and experiences the Divine as the only Reality; the only desired state of consciousness.
Sri Daya Mataji has written: “First comes Faith in God…it is developed by making God the polestar of your life….Pray: …My God, You are.”

3. Oh My Own
Commentary
With Divine Remembrance and deep devotion, the devotee calls upon the Divine Beloved and continues to affirm the desire to be wholly in the Presence of God forevermore.
Then the Listening Presence within embraces the consciousness of the devotee, opening wide the quiet heart with the inviting melody of Divine Love.
Brother Chidanandaji encouraged seekers to: “…Feel the pull of God’s desire, the pull of God’s love that wants to draw each of us into that infinite and eternal embrace.”

4. Relax In Me
Commentary
From the writings of Paramahansa Yogananda we find: “The scriptures of the world abound in descriptions of talks between God and man…Again and again the scriptures tell is of the Lord’s promise that He will communicate with us.”
In “Relax In Me” God lovingly responds to the devotee’s determined angst and unremitting supplications with the admonition to relax and trust in Divine Providence; that the Divine Love is always there, waiting for the devotee to come inside with trust … there to find rest and comfort in the Divine Presence.

Commentary
The devotee, blissfully intoxicated with the inner visitation, realizes there is no end to the Love of God and there is no end to the devotee’s love for God. Whether consciously in tune or asleep in delusion, Divine Love will always bind Soul and Spirit.

Commentary
In “A Thousand Ways” an awareness of the unceasing love and blessings constantly flowing into the devotee’s life from the Divine Beloved overwhelms the heart with profound gratitude and longing for Union.

Commentary
An exalted Inner Knowing finds expression in this Divine Love song. The quiet heart of the devotee has taken a giant step deep within the Divine Romance, and a sense of sweet belonging is profoundly felt.

Commentary
Great gratitude swells the heart, and with that understanding comes the profound recognition of God’s supreme gift of Love. Consumed by the Love of God, with full heart and rejoicing soul the devotee tearfully acknowledges the divinely bestowed eternal gift.
